The Parish Council is a statutory consultee on planning applications but does not make the decision on whether or not they are granted or refused.  Our comments, particularly about local factors,  are taken into consideration.

The decisions on applications are taken by the Dover District Council Planning Committee or Dover District Council Planning Officers when delegated to make a decision.

Planning Applications Page provides a link to the Dover District Council Planning site and shows all the applications for the parish of Ash. You can search by individual application number. You can also view the weekly lists of all new applications for the District.

Ash Settlement Boundary (also known as the Ash Village Confines) is a map of the area of the Ash Village that has been zoned for residential building in the Dover District Local Plan 2015.

S106 Agreements are legal agreements between developers and Dover District Council linked to planning permissions. This money may be awarded to a variety of different organisations, including Parish Councils.

Ash Parish Council can apply to Dover District Council for the transfer of relevant S106 funds. Examples of previous S106 monies received by Ash Parish Council are £1,900 for the repairs to the seesaw, roundabout and swings and £4,780 for zip wire repair, at the Recreation Ground.

Enforcement is an important part of the planning system that is carried out by Dover District Council.  If you think that there has been a breach of planning control you can report this to Dover District Council.  Full details about this are on their website.
