Urgent road and sharp closure – Overland Lane, Ash – 30th April 2021 for up to one day. Road closed at the junctions of Nash Road and sharp left bend into the dead-end section of Overland Lane Lane. The alternative route is via Nash Road, Church Hill and Hoaden Lane.

Information for the public wishing to pay their respects

Following the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh many of you will be wanting to pay tribute to him and offer condolences to Her Majesty The Queen at this sad time.

Our priority remains to keep everyone safe and, due to the current public health guidelines and lockdown restrictions around COVID-19, we will not be providing a book of condolences.

If you wish to leave your tributes to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, please do so by signing the book of condolence on the website of The Royal Household.  The e-book of condolence will close after the period of ROYAL mourning on the 22nd April 2021.

The Royal Household has requested that members of the public do not leave floral tributes or gather in public places to offer their respects. The Palace has suggested that people could donate to charity instead, if they wish to do so.

There will be a national one-minute silence at 15:00 on Saturday 17th April, the day of the funeral.

Urgent Road Closure – Overland Lane, Ash – 13th April 2021 (Dover). It will be necessary to close Overland Lane, Ash from 13th April 2021 for up to 1 day. The road will be closed at the junction with Nash Road, to outside the property Southwood. The alternative route is via Nash Road, Church Hill and Hoaden Lane. This is to enable carriageway repairs to be carried out by Kent County Council.

DDC Community Grants Scheme Opens 12th April

Local community groups looking for vital funding are encouraged to apply to Dover District Council’s Community Grants Scheme. Community groups who benefit the local area can bid for grants from £100 up to £2,000.  Bids will be accepted from Monday 12 April 2021 until 12 noon on Monday 24 May 2021 and successful applicants will be notified in early July.

The Street road works due to start on 14th April 2021

This is to let you know that, as part of the on-going maintenance and improvement of the highway network, Kent County Council will be working to improve the road surface of The Street, Ash between the junctions of Chequer Lane and New Street.
These road surface improvement works are programmed to start on the 14th of April 2021 and should take 2 days to complete. These activities will be undertaken during a working window between the hours of 07.00 –19.00 on each day of works.
