Postponed: The Tale of Ales: previously billed as the Festival of Pubs due to be held on Saturday 28th August 2021.

It has been said before but we do live in strange times! Our resident playwright, the brilliant and creative Penny Bernard has set us up for a rollicking event, the Tale of Ales. Many of you will have experienced the sheer joy Penny brings to the village with her annual pantomime for the New Ash Players.
With a series of true stories about the characters who lived and worked at our many village pubs (14) in days gone by, Penny’s Tale of Ales has some fascinating true storylines for the Players.
We had hoped the Players would entertain audiences on the August Bank Holiday 2021 with a series of historical wandering performances around the village Pubs, past and present.
Sadly, due to too many uncertainties raised by the current pandemic situation we believe it is best to postpone this event until at least 2022. We will return to give you more information in 2022

A referendum is taking place for voters in the Ash Parish on Thursday 22nd July 2021 on the Ash Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP).
The polling station will be open from 7am to 10pm at the Ash Village Hall, Queens Road, Ash.
A neighbourhood development plan sets out policies in relation to the development and use of land within the neighbourhood area, this being the parish of Ash.
The referendum will ask the question:
‘Do you want Dover District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Ash to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’

It is a Yes or No  Vote and it will be decided by the majority of those voting.
Paper copies will be available for people to view at the Dover District Council Offices. You can arrange an appointment by ringing 01304 821 199 to view the documents from Monday to Friday, between 10am and 2pm.

Cooper Street Drove, Ash will be closed from Monday 21 June for up to 4 days in the vicinity of Goss Hall for works on a fire hydrant.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A257 and Hills Court Road.

100 no-waiting cones were put along The Street on Tuesday, where the double yellow lining was before the resurfacing. This is to help to keep the road clear so that cars and buses can move along the road as safely as possible.

The lines will be painted around the 30th June and The Street will be closed so this work can be done. Residents will be notified with letter drops and advance warning signs on-site. Please do not park on The Street when the road is closed so the work can be completed as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and co-operation.
