Exciting new play area coming to Ash Recreation Ground this June!

After more than a year of planning, the new play area is another step closer. Ash Parish Council are pleased to announce that the contract for the new play area has been signed with HAGS.  Works are scheduled to commence in April for planned completion in June.

The new area is aimed at 8- to 14-year-olds, complementing the existing play area aimed at younger children. It will provide lots of equipment for physical and interactive play as well as areas to sit and socialise. Inclusive play features are also included for the less physically able.

The Parish Council would like to thank Jack Foat’s Trust, Frank Kingsland Trust and Cartwright Godfrey and Kelsey Charity for their generous donations towards the project.

The total cost of the project is £105,000 + VAT, to be funded by:

£ 52,950.57    S106 funding from planning application ref: 16/01049 – Land at Chequer Lane, Ash

£ 20,049.43    Ash Parish Council Ear Marked Reserves

£ 20,000.00    Grant Funding from Jack Foat’s Trust

£ 7,000.00      Grant Funding from Frank Kingsland Trust

£ 5,000.00      Grant Funding from Cartwright Godfrey and Kelsey Charity
