
Job Vacancy for Clerk

There is a job vacancy for the Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. 25 hours per week.
You will need to be able to work from home and to store council documents. You will be required to attend and administer 12 monthly council meetings held on the first Monday of the month, and upto two committees on the third Wednesday and fourth Monday of the month, the Annual Parish Meeting (all held in the evening) and other occasional meetings.
Applicants with experience of clerking or the local government sector, with a working knowledge of planning and neighbourhood development plans are preferred but consideration will be given to individuals with appropriate skills and attitude, who learn quickly and can apply that knowledge with confidence.
Microsoft Office 365, Rialtas, Parish On-line Mapping and word-press website competencies are required, although if needed training will be provided. Holders of the Certificate in Local Council Administration are preferred. If you do not hold this you will be required to gain this qualification, supported and funded by the council. A pro-active approach, interpersonal skills, diplomacy and flexibility in dealing with the public are essential. Project management knowledge and social media skills would be useful.
This position is within LC2 (SPC 18-23 – £16,879 – £18,270) depending upon qualifications and experience.
