Don’t Forget – Temporary Road Closure – Richborough Road, Ash – 14th March
Due to works planned to be undertaken by Openreach, It will be necessary to close part of Richborough Road, Ash, from 14th March 2024 with estimated completion by 14th March 2024.
Richborough Road, Ash, will be closed from Sandhills Farm to Potts Farm, between the hours of 08:30 and 16:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cop Street Road, Cop Street, A257 Ash Bypass, Cooper Street Drove, Richborough Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while allowing fibre works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Openreach.

Oil Deposits Along the Coast
Update: Deposits of oil and tar have been found along the stretch of coast between Deal Pier and Sandwich Bay. Sadly, dead seabirds and other marine life have also been found.
Inspections have taken place and we are working to clear the deposits as quickly as possible. We are also arranging for the immediate removal of any dead marine animals.
We continue to support our partners as they work to establish the source.
Dog owners are asked to keep their dogs on leads along the affected coast and beach users are advised to keep away from oil deposits. While investigations are underway, we are also advising people to avoid swimming.
If you see substantial deposits of oil or larger dead animals (such as seals) please contact us on 01304 821199 with a brief description and the location.
The council is working with Kent County Council, Thanet District Council, Maritime and Coastguard Agency and Environment Agency

Hoaden Lane, Ash, will be closed between the junctions of Overland Lane and Church Hill, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hoaden Lane, Sheerwater Road, Padbrook Lane, Church Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while allowing fibre works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Openreach.

Pound Corner – Update of the Project

Work at Pound Corner is progressing very well, the benches have started to be revamped, here are a few before and after photos of the area. Ash PC is looking forward to the finished result.
Pound Corner Makeover
Ash Parish Council are delighted that Pound Corner will be receiving a much-needed makeover starting from today and throughout the month. This will include refurbishing the benches, removing, and tidying up planted areas and replanting, improving the paving and generally create a vibrant and welcoming outdoor haven for all to enjoy.
In the meantime, we do apologise for any inconvenience, but we hope residents will enjoy the final result.
